Olivia Auston Family

“We have a home we can call our own. We never thought we would have a home, or a safe place to play. We came from a place with lots of drug trafficking and lots of police because of it. There were no locks on the back door and because of this we had someone off the street walk in and ask my daughter for beer and cigarettes. He was arrested outside our house. There were always police on the street. Now, we never worry about strangers walking into our home. We have security. This has been a blessing and an answer to prayer for our family”. —Olivia

LeRoy and Sally Gilbert Family

Leroy and Sally each grew up in mobile homes. They were renting a trailer, living with their two sons when they were selected. The Washington County Board of Realtors sponsored their home.

“Habitat is making it possible to achieve our dream of making a better life for our children by giving them a chance to grow up in a home.” —Sally

Sonya Gelter Family

This house means protection for my five children. It is so gratifying to have my own home where my kids can have a safe haven from the environment we used to live in.  They get to go to the same schools, and have the same friends knowing they will go to school with them the next year.

My children have been healthier since we moved into our new home. They were constantly sick in our old rental. Our neighborhood provides much support to us. It is great to belong to this larger family.    —Sonya
